Berry Picking & Mushrooms
Oh the joy of picking fresh berries!
These came right out of Rebecca’s backyard. We grabbed more than a handful and munched on them during our car ride to the hike, lucky enough to only bite into a few sour ones.
The flora of Boone did not disappoint, surprising us with fresh blackberries! A few things I learnt that day: 1. unripe berries are green that gradually turn red, then black and 2. the skin of fully ripe berries are dull black, not shiny!
