Engagement at the Falls

I find the love that comes from a high school sweetheart to be one of the most pure and warm-hearted sentiments one can experience in life. The shared history— from memories of first dances to resilience through challenges to the comfort found in one another, are a testament to the power of love that can grow and evolve as life unfolds. It was an absolute honor to photograph these two sweethearts during their engagement session, set against the backdrop of this gorgeous waterfall in western North Carolina.

When Vanessa stepped out in her 1920’s handmade dress with hiking boots and Austin with his formal attire and boots, I just knew these were my kind of people. I loved how adventurous they were, exploring off the beaten path and sometimes even risking the slippery boulders for the perfect shot (without me even asking!). If you know me, I wasn’t too far behind, camera in hand. A photographer/client match made in heaven if you ask me.

Our 0.8 mile hike was spent trailing down memory lane, reliving the moments of when two teenagers fell in love and decided to start a life together.
