Beauty of the Garden
Botanical gardens and I just click. No matter where I am in the world, I make it a mission to visit ones in my area.
Today’s journey was to University of North Carolina Charlotte Botanical Gardens. UNCC and I are no strangers, as this was my top choice of colleges to attend. It’s a stunning campus and their garden is no different. This was my first time testing Kodak Portra 800 and I must say… I am in love with this film stock; the pops of saturation, the shades of green, & pastel-like color palette is just chef’s kiss. I’m thoroughly impressed with the results and I can’t wait to continue shooting with this film stock in different locations.
Something I’ve noticed since moving to North Carolina are the immense bushes of Hydrangeas. Here’s a little fun fact I learned! The flowers of hydrangeas act as natural pH indicators, displaying blue flowers when the soil is acidic, purple flowers when the soil is between 5.5-6.5, and pink ones when the soil is alkaline.
